Ebook About
A shocking exposé looking into the failure of our government to investigate the assassination of a president. Now featuring a foreword from New York Times bestselling author Dick Russell. Gaeton Fonzi’s masterful retelling of his work investigating the Kennedy assassination for two congressional committees is required reading for students of the assassination and the subsequent failure of the government to solve the crime. His book is a compelling postmortem on the House Select Committee on Assassinations, as well as a riveting account of Fonzi’s pursuit of leads indicating involvement in the assassination by officers of the Central Intelligence Agency. First published in 1993 and now with a new foreword by Dick Russell, New York Times bestselling author of They Killed Our President! and 63 Documents the Government Doesn’t Want You to Read, Fonzi’s The Last Investigation was a landmark book upon its release. More than merely an indictment of the Committee’s work, The Last Investigation tells the story of the important leads Fonzi developed as an investigator, which sent him into the milieu of Kennedy-haters among anti-Castro exiles and CIA officers. In this highly readable book, the author follows the trail to formerly obscure CIA officers such as David Atlee Phillips and David Morales. New records declassified under the JFK Records Act have only added to the dark questions raised here.

Book The Last Investigation Review :

The Last Investigation: A Former Federal Investigator Reveals the Conspiracy to Kill JFK, by Gaeton Fonzi, is without a doubt one of the top ten books about the JFK assassination. Fonzi's work is a keystone text cited by all the major assassination researchers who have followed. Besides being packed with important data, it's an eminently readable narrative. This is because Fonzi treats the subject from a very personal point of view and in doing so we feel as if we are accompanying him every step along the way through this tortuous odyssey. That said, the author never engages in baseless speculation and sticks closely to the fact as they emerge. The book is mostly formatted with the structure of a chronicle that unfolds neatly from beginning to end. Along the way we encounter some of the principal figures that were involved in the planning and execution of Kennedy's murder, including David Atlee Phillips (aka Maurice Bishop) and David Sanchez Morales, both employed by the CIA. Thanks to the author's engaging writing style, these figures emerge as carefully honed, three-dimensional characters. Fonzi spends much time and attention on Antonio Veciana, a principal player in the assassination attempts on Fidel Castro, who provides Fonzi with many of the most essential leads in his investigation. The developing relationship between Veciana and Fonzi is perhaps the main arc in the book, extending from the beginning to the end of the chronicle and reaping a rich harvest of data all along the way.
Delivery was fine, book may be fine, but indication was it was in good condition but not so - pages ripped on edge as though something jammed in it. Bag it was shipped in was fine so had to have been sent in that condition. Not returning since I wish to read it but will have to toss and buy again if it’s a keeper. No one cares anymore.
